Glenn Fisher, cello, played chamber music with his family. He played in orchestra through college. He was
principal cellist of the Peninsula Symphony for 20 years. His teachers include Gabor Reijto, Margaret Rowell,
and currently Stephen Harrison. He enjoys chamber music, hiking, travel, and his grandkids.
Patricia Stroh, piano, is originally from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and has degrees in music history from the
University of Illinois and UC Berkeley, as well as a library degree from UCB. She has been Curator of the Ira F.
Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies at San Jose State University since 1986. She is currently working on a
book (a bibliographic guide to Beethoven’s piano sonatas) and occasionally finds time for her favorite
pastimes, playing chamber music, hiking, and doing crossword puzzles.
Daniel Cher started his violin career six weeks later than anticipated due to rough tackle during a football game
at age 9. Daniel was a founding member of Saint Michael Trio, a local piano trio known for educational and
informative performances. Daniel has played in several orchestras, including Orchestra New England, New
Haven Symphony, New Century Chamber Orchestra. Since 2016, he has been a member and board member of
Peninsula Symphony Orchestra. At age 50, Daniel had an epiphany and, to his wife’s amusement, started playing
accordion (mostly in the garage).
Alex Wang is a software engineer by trade, but a musician-at-heart that enjoys playing music in different genres
and contexts. Currently based in Santa Clara, he performs regularly with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra,
Peninsula Symphony Chamber Players, as well as various chamber groups, musical theater ensembles and other
groups in the Bay Area. Prior to moving to northern California, Alex lived in the greater San Diego area, where
he performed with the La Jolla Symphony during the year and served as Concertmaster for the Villa Musica
Summer Orchestra during the off-season.
Renee Toscan began studying viola under Amy Letson and actively collaborating with other musicians in
chamber groups and the Billings Youth Orchestra. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Concordia College,
where she studied with Kate Hamilton and Joanne Cohen, and later pursued a Master of Music at Ithaca College,
studying with David Quiggle. Renee has participated in prestigious festivals, including the Brevard Music Festival,
the Lutheran Summer Music Festival and the Alessandria Conservatory Summer Festival in Alessandria, Italy.
She has won section positions with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and the Billings Symphony
Orchestra. Currently, she performs with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra and continues to enjoy collaborating
with fellow musicians in orchestras and chamber ensembles.
Cellist Michael Flexer studied with Irene Sharp and performed with the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra; while a
student at Harvard he studied with Bernard Greenhouse at the New England Conservatory. He’s been a member
of the Saint Michael Trio since 2007. As a software engineer, he has worked with Siebel Systems, C3, Duck Duck
Moose, and Khan Academy Kids.
Pianist Eugene Lee started piano lessons at the age of 4 and took lessons until graduating high school. He
restarted piano lessons after a 32-year hiatus and has performed in several solo and chamber music recitals,
Fortnightly Music Club concerts, California Concerto Festivals, as well as the PianoTexas and Cliburn Amateur
Piano Festivals. He currently studies with Temirzhan Yerzhanov. His professional career includes co-founding an
email company, VP Marketing at Cisco and Adobe, CEO of Socialtext, and is now CEO of Motiv8.
